Here is some information about the clients we work with:
During the 12 months to April 2011 our statistics show that our clients reduced their substance use, had improved mental and physical health and were more likely to have found work or training.
Some facts about our clients:
Our clients in our drug and alcohol services are aged from 18 upwards, though most are aged between 30 and 49:
<25 years old = 10%
25-39 years old = 49%
40-49 years old = 27%
Over 50 years old = 14%
Their main support needs are help with substance misuse:
Mental health = 26%
Substance misuse = 33%
Dependent children = 14%
Other = 27%
We monitor our clients' progress in a range of areas using a scale of 0 to 2, where 0 indicates they have no current issue. In the year April 2010 to March 2011, the clients in our services in B&NES showed an improvement in many areas using this scale:
Their social functioning showed an average of 39% improvement
Their general health showed an average of 28% improvement
Their psychological wellbeing showed an average of 31% improvement
They were 26% more likely to be in work or training
Their drug or alcohol use fell by 31%.
