Golden Key is inspiring change in Bristol, guided by a city-wide partnership of leading agencies in health, housing, criminal justice and other areas of support. Together we are opening doors and unlocking services, creating new futures for those with the most complex needs.
An eight-year £10 million Big Lottery funded partnership programme led by Second Step, Golden Key is a multi-agency group that is joining forces to unlock doors for people with multiple and complex needs who have felt shut out of services in Bristol.
People with 'lived experience' of homelessness, prison, long-term mental health issues, and drug and alcohol dependency are at the heart of this innovative project, with DHI providing the Peer Mentoring Service. A fundamental part of the programme, peer mentors will be offered to every Golden Key client over the course of the programme. Peer Mentors are inspiring and positive role models who have lived experience of the complex issues clients of the programme are experiencing. All mentors are fully trained and supported by DHI to equip them for their role in supporting others, and in ensuring their own personal development needs are met.
