Drug & Alcohol Recovery Worker

Salary: £19,819 -£23,866 (NJC 20 -26 dependant on experience, pro rata for part time roles)

Hours: 22.5 per week

Location: Midsomer Norton

Contract Type: Permanent

Other: DHI offers up to 31 days paid leave (service related) in addition to statutory holidays, an employee assistance programme and a Pension scheme that requires an obligatory contribution of 3% from employees’ salary to the employer’s contribution of 7%.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Drug & Alcohol Recovery Worker to join our Midsomer Norton Hub team which is part of the B&NES Drug and Alcohol Service. The purpose of the role is to work with people accessing the service for harm reduction and recovery support for drug and alcohol use.

Day to day activties

  • You will contribute to the operation of the single point of entry; completing triage and comprehensive assessment.
  • Deliver harm reduction interventions including needle exchange, Naloxone distribution and dry blood spot testing.
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions to agree aims and objectives, plan the way forward and facilitate positive change.
