West of England Works - Employment & Skills Worker

Salary: NJC PT 20-22 (£25,991 - £27, 041) Depending on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (one full time equivalent) and such additional hours as are required by the business from time to time. Usual office hours are between 9am- 5pm with a requirement to work flexibly to provide client services (usually 9-8pm). The post will require some weekend and/or evening work subject to the requirements of the service, the business and operational management.

Location: Bath and North East Somerset We have client hubs in central Bath and Midsomer Norton. A current valid UK driving licence and use of a car and willingness to use it for the purposes of this role, including the provision of business insurance is an essential requirement.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until March 2022

Additional Information: 26 days plus statutory and bank holidays (1 additional day after each year of service, up to a maximum of 31 days).

The Role

DHI are excited to be recruiting a new WoEW Employment and Skills Worker to provide employment, education and training support across Bath and North East Somerset. As part of the role you will have an opportunity to work flexibly between home, DHI offices and client hubs.

This is a key post which will complement DHI’s existing services and support to people who are socially excluded. The post is funded by and will contribute to the delivery of wider partnership objectives under the Building Better Opportunities (BBO)/West of England Works (WoEW) programme which is managed by Weston College.

The team will support adults who are not in education, employment or training due to multiple and complex needs and/or access barriers. DHI team will focus primarily on supporting clients with a history of substance misuse and/or homelessness. The DHI Employment & Skills Worker will work across DHI’s drug and alcohol treatments services, housing services and social prescribing programmes.

The Employment & Skills Team is responsible for providing tailored and effective assessment, support planning and interventions to meet the identified education, training or employment (ETE) needs and goals of clients who face multiple barriers to accessing education, training and/or employment opportunities.
