The Role

Developing Health & Independence is an award-winning charity running innovative services to help disadvantaged people and those living on the margins of society turn their lives around.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Substance Misuse Worker to fill a fixed term contract role covering the BANES area.

This is a hands-on role, working with 11-18 year olds to deliver harm reduction information and advice via a community based outreach approach.

It will involve travelling and meeting young people within the BANES area, in various settings, engaging them in the treatment process to enable them to reduce or abstain from drug use.

If you are resilient, self-motivated, have experience of partnership working, and are able to demonstrate an innovative and creative approach in your work, we would love to hear from you.

For further information please see the full Job Description and Person Specification. To arrange a call to discuss the role further please initially contact HR at recruitment@dhi-services.org.uk.

DHI is striving to be an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for successful candidates although a positive check will not necessarily mean in-eligibility for a role.

As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

How To Apply

Please use the Job Description and Person Specification to complete an Application form and a Skills form and send to recruitment@dhi-services.org.uk before Midday Friday 25th October 2019.
