Generous customers at Dunelm’s Brislington store have donated gifts to ensure some of the most vulnerable people in our communities have presents to open on Christmas Day.
The gifts – including cosy blankets, warm socks and toiletry sets – were wrapped by DHI’s Reach housing support and advice team.
“These lovely presents will go to residents living in our supported housing and to people who are experiencing street homelessness this Christmas,” said Natasha Francis, Support Worker.
“We wrote tags with what our clients would like and returned them to Dunelm, where Joyce, one of their team leaders, hung them on the Dunelm Delivering Joy tree. Customers then picked them up like a shopping list.
“Thanks to their generosity, our clients will open a bag of presents on Christmas Day, with everything from slippers and bath treats to selection boxes and mugs of hot chocolate.”
“For many of our clients, this means they’ll have something to unwrap when they might otherwise have had nothing,” Natasha added.
A huge thank you to Dunelm customers and staff for making this happen. You’ve truly made a difference this Christmas.
