Overdose Awareness Day 2023 - DHI


DHI is observing World Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st through open sessions at several of our main centers. This provides individuals with the opportunity to gather information about the perils of overdose and shine a light on the available assistance.

Globally recognized as the largest annual initiative to combat overdose, International Overdose Awareness Day stands to eliminate stigma, honor the memory of those who have passed, and acknowledge the sorrow experienced by their loved ones.

If you or someone you're acquainted with is in the process of making life changes, constructing a path to recovery, or seeking to avert relapses, we extend an offer for cost-free, confidential support.

To delve into the array of assistance we extend – encompassing guidance on harm reduction and training with Naloxone – kindly drop by our locations on Friday 31 August 31st, the schedule is:

Location: 14 St James's Parade, Bath BA1 1UL

10:00am-12:00pm – Drop in for first responders of overdose, family, friends, professionals, clients – this a chance to talk through what happened if you have been affected.

Location: The Lighthouse, St Michael’s Church, Watery Lane, Twerton, Bath, BA2 1RL

12:00pm – 1.30pm – Professionals/General: Naloxone training

2:00pm: Welcome, grab a drink, cake etc

2:30pm: Respect community meeting

3:00pm - 4:00pm: Naloxone training
