Out of hours help

DHI does not provide 24/7 services but we appreciate that sometimes things happen outside of our core hours that you need support with.

If you have a medical emergency call 999 and follow the instructions of the operator who will help you get the necessary support

If you call 999, remember:-

  • Stay on the phone
  • Give as much information as possible, including any medicines or drugs someone may have taken.
  • Stay with the person
  • Keep any medicines to show the ambulance crew when they arrive so they can treat most effectively.
  • The Police will not attend if you are calling for an Ambulance.

If you need non-urgent help out of hours, below are some useful contact numbers and websites.

If you are finding things difficult and need someone to talk to, call the Samaritans on 116 123. This is a free and confidential service. You do not need to be suicidal to call them.

If you are unwell or need non-urgent support for your health please contact your GP practice out of hours service.

If you have an urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do call 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
