SmokeFree Service

Ready to Stop Smoking?

You don't have to do it alone

Stopping smoking can be difficult, but having someone alongside you who understands what you're going through can make a real difference.

DHI's SmokeFree Peer Support Programme connects you with trained volunteers who have successfully stopped smoking themselves. They know what it's like to manage cravings, change habits and overcome setbacks because they've been there too.

Whether you're ready to stop smoking, want to cut down or are just beginning to think about making a change, we're here to support you.

Support from someone who understands

What makes our programme different is the power of lived experience.

Our peers understand that stopping smoking isn't always straightforward. They can share what helped them, listen to your concerns and offer encouragement when things get tough.

They won't judge you or tell you what to do. Instead, they'll work alongside you, helping you find an approach that works for you, at your own pace.

How we can help

Our trained peers can help you to:

  • Understand your smoking habits, triggers and cravings.
  • Find practical ways to cut down or stop smoking.
  • Build confidence and stay motivated.
  • Manage setbacks without losing sight of your goals.
  • Access other stop-smoking and wellbeing services when needed.
  • Celebrate your progress, however small.

Support can be offered one-to-one, in groups, face-to-face, over the phone or online.
