West of England Works

West of England Works

About the service

DHI is part of the exciting West of England Works project led by Weston College, with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund.

Employment and Skills Workers at DHI have a commitment to support unemployed and economically inactive people across Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire in achieving positive change, enabling them to overcome multiple barriers to employment, education and training.

How we help

Employment and Skills Workers at DHI facilitate independence, supporting people on the journey to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve goals. Participants in the project will be offered a personalised action plan that utilises solution-focused and strengths-based approaches. Examples of the support on offer include:

  • Exploring relevant educational or training opportunities
  • Advice about funding training and education courses
  • Help to identify and address barriers to achieving employment, education or training-related goals, including signposting to other organisations where appropriate
  • Confidence building
  • Support around CV writing
  • Help with job searches
  • Interview preparation

We do not provide Out of Hours or emergency support. If you need help in an emergency or outside of our working hours (9am-5pm Monday to Friday), visit our Out of hours help page.
